He posted the "best paragraph of the morning" by Pat Shortridge.
Gas is $3.50 a gallon and politicians are ready to lock up oil company executives. Milk is $3.50 a gallon and the same politicians can't shovel our money to the farm lobby fast enough. What statesmen.
Tell me about it.
Anyone remember the late 70's when we had the milk shortages? The long lines at Red Owl and the rationing of milk? At Peter Boe Jr Elementary School we actually had to split our mini Cass-Clay milk cartons 4 ways. Good thing I was a fast little sucker...
My mom worked a second job just to pay for the milk. Pizza without cheese. It was an American nightmare. Packer fans without cheeseheads...
War over milk...etc.
Some classic Cheney milk quotes: (actually oil quotes)
The good Lord didn't see fit to put milk and cheese only where there are democratically elected regimes friendly to the United States. Occasionally we have to operate in places where, all things considered, one would not normally choose to go. But, we go where the business is.
And the classic:
Let us rid ourselves of the fiction that low milk prices are somehow good
for the United States.
Ok, seriously now. Shortridge comparing two vastly different commodities for political gain. Milk prices are a bit high right now, but the price of milk does not sway a decision to drive to Buffalo to go to a movie and eat.
Driving nearly a thousand miles a week, these gas price spikes really impact a guy like me. I've responded by combining trips, not driving on the weekends, and using the cruise control at 55. I need to drive to, for and from work. Milk...not such a necessity for me now.

You'll be worried about milk prices in a few years after you and blue woman start having those blue babies.
We would probably see the return of the Milk man if gas prices were not so high.
