I saw this coming for a couple weeks. Obviously you have to compromise, but the DFL was so eager to have an '08 issue that they didn't even wage a strong pre-compromise fight.
Once you get a majority you have to use it. The notion that they'll keep 85 House seats is insane. Minnesota is at best 75 seats (give or take a couple) for either party. Wimping out will not protect those who won traditional Republican seats.
I believe in politics, but it's lame displays like this that make me better understand those who think it doesn't matter. We need a leader. Pawlenty generally says no to everything (sans the environment) or doesn't really fund good school reforms and the DFL leadership is too mediocre for words.
