Will Pawlenty Ever Make Another Student Appointment to the MnSCU Board? (Updated)

*Updated*

We were wrong...

After searching both the MnSCU and Governor's sites yesterday, we did not come across any indications that the Governor had infact, made appointments to the MnSCU Board. We regret the error and apologize.

Three students were appointed last Friday. The community and technical college students will serve full two year terms. The technical college student position was 2 years past due for reappointment. The 4 year college student student will serve 1 year.

Best of luck to the trustee's! It will be a great experience!

With a Governor like Pawlenty, doesn't it make you wish they had to run every two years?

The man is disdainful of students, what have they ever given him, after all.

So, who voted for him? Too many rank-and-file union guys, too many students, would be one guess.

People who deserve to have the toast land butter side down every time, like the air traffic controllers who voted for Reagan.

I'll never forget the day I met the Gov. after all the weeks of work I put in as a Penny Fellow on the BSU campus working fo tuition freeze. I had collected over 500 signatures on postcards to give him signifying our campus support of the tuition freeze. He took them, said, "well, that's just great" and handed them to his assistant. I never heard anything more. He has no respect for students, and the fact that he was about to appoint Hellier, a PRIVATE college graduate to the MnSCU board disgusted all of us who were paying attention. The good ole' boys network is alive and well in Minnesota...I guess his way of sticking it to us is to just not appoint anyone. So much for the voice of middle class and first generation college students.

Didn't Molnau head MnDOT all that time without an appointment?

He picks improper people for roles. He has no real respect for the workings that have to be run right, and supervised. It is reward the loyal and never mind competency.

Competency can get in the way until the thing blows up, then he says, "Okay, this next one will be on merit." It happened with MDH, throwing out the idiot woman who said birth control pills cause cancer, not for that, but for hiding cancer data under a hat. She got caught. Molnau had the bridge fall, she got dumped.

Otherwise, unfit but loyal people are just fine with Pawlenty.

hThere's a rumor John McCain has similar feelings and might select an unfit but loyal individual to run for Vice President.

Hal: Governor Pawlenty made student appointments to the MNSCU board last Friday. According to his website, a press release was sent out announcing the appointment. Did you contact his office before you wrote this post?

Michael B. --- Who?

If you put up that kind of a post, for Chirstsakes, go the final yard, eh?

We truly are more intereested in information than a random gotcha. You read Blue Man and that is good. It broadens the spectrum.

And you appear to have the information, so why say go read something that wastes everyone's time? That's not being really helpful. Think it over.

At least, a specific link??????

To be honest with you, I have not bookmarked the guy's website nor do I have time to go there and ferret around.

Respect people's time. Give info.
