Domestic Violence a "pre-existing condition"?

This is what happens when corporate greed supersedes common sense.
But, in DC and eight other states, including Idaho, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wyoming, insurance companies have gone too far, claiming that "domestic violence victim" is also a pre-existing condition.
Yet another reason real and strong reforms are needed to health care in this country.

Besides spousal abuse, domestic abuse, as a term, can include brutalizing the children.

Do they exclude coverage of abused children?

If they could get away with it under the radar, we can speculate on the will of insurers to their bottom line.

My guess is they have some sense of what they can get away with, but I would not be unhinged by surprise if in some states beaten children are excluded.

That one allows a free download of the complete 14 page item.

It is or should be a big part of the healthcare debate.
