Can someone explain the differences to Tinklenberg 2008?
Apparently they can't see the not so fine line between both.
Working on the video from the SD 56 and 52 events where Tinklenberg says he has the support of the entire Congressional delegation from Minnesota and Patty Wetterling.
For the record, Patty has not endorsed anyone.
Congressman Tim Walz is staying out of it as well.
Yet Elwyn claimed the endorsement of both.
So, a campaign can lie on a consistent basis and those of us that call them out on them are the evil doers?
Phenomenal!

The DFL race in CD 6
So, who will unseat Congresswoman Bachmann in November, 2008.
It will be a very daunting task. While I do not agree with the Congresswoman on virtually every policy stance she has, I will say Bachmann will be very tough to beat.
Money couldn't do it this past year. Patty Wetterling out raised Bachmann and still was beaten, rather soundly at that.
Here's to hoping that we don't run the conventional campaign out here in rural Central Minnesota. We have seen it the past several years in Congressional campaigns and it won't work in 2008. Regardless of who the candidate is.
Who will that candidate be? So far, we think we have two candidates.
Elwyn Tinklenberg? H/T Dump Bachmann
Bob Hill?
No word from Tarryl Clark yet, although I think it's inevitable that she will throw her hat into the ring.
Kathy Saltzman? Residual Forces Andy Apolinski posted a rumor on his site about Kathy being active in Wright County and in the Western portion of the 6th.
Nice try Andy.
The short list of candidates is promising, but it will take a lot more than money to beat Congresswoman Bachmann in 2008.

Reached by phone Monday, the freshman state senator laughed at the idea."About the only time I leave Washington County is to go to the Capitol," she said.
"I did go to St. Cloud in December to speak to the St. Cloud school board as part of my former job (as an educational lobbyist), but that was the only trip outside of the metro area that I am aware of that I have taken in that direction."
Nice try Andy.

Campaign spending
Coming out of a campaign cycle recently. Minnesota Campaign Report has some great analysis of the spending for the US Senate race and the Congressional races.
From the periphery, Patty Wetterling out raised EVERY Congressional candidate in the state. Devling into the numbers deeper though, the 6th CD race proved to be as fiercly fought for as we had envisioned.
Bachmann had a sizable edge with regards to the pool of base voters in the 6th, estimated at a 10% advantage. The fight for the "middle 30%" was a spendy fight. Both campaigns spent significantly to gain the marginal votes.
I urge you to go to MCR for their work on this, the Daily Kos picked up on this as well.
Great work Joe.

Holy Fundraising Batman!
The figures are in for what was spent politically in MN. Wow!
More than $35 million was spent by Federal Candidates in MN for 2006. Damn!
About $6 was spent in SD 18, CD 6...
CD 6 set a record in Mn for spending $5.7 million! Wetterling spent about $3.1 million? Bachmann about $2.4 million.
CD 7 Congressman Peterson spent $686,000 and Michael Barrett spent almost $37,000, our operatives tell us all of it in SD 18!
I am sure Barrett is fundraising for an 08 run at Peterson. Wetterling is done in politics, IMO...
Democrats are going to have to raise a boatload of money and organize all across CD 6, in order to beat Bachmann in 08.
No Representative Seifert, we have no need to keep drunken sailors away from the ship...
